King Fantastic - Stop Fucking Playing (HavocNdeeD Remix)
Good day gangsters.
We are now one week away from dropping our debut album, Finger Snaps and Gun Claps, and are pleased to share our first official remix with y'all.
It's for the song, "Stop Fucking Playing," and is an all out dubstep monster by the ones they call HavocNdeeD (also, check the original in our streaming album player on our site).
Thank you Kelly Hibbert at Elysian Masters for the mastering job.

Bassnectar - Bass Head (King Fantastic Remix)
We are two weeks away from dropping our debut album, Finger Snaps and Gun Claps, and could not be more excited.
Until then, here's a banging, big and brutal remix of our homie Bassnectar.
Thank you to Kristian Riley for the mix, and Kelly Hibbert at Elysian Masters for the mastering job.

King Fantastic - Colors (Ice T Cover)
We are a little later than usual this week, but we believe it's well worth the wait.
This one is for the West Coast and the originals who made it what it is today.
King Fantastic - Colors (Ice T Cover) (320kbps mp3)
The Bird and the Bee - Because (King Fantastic Remix)
Here is the second remix by my King Fantastic side project.
The original is one of King Fantastic emcee Killer Reese's favorite songs, surprising to me at first, but once you hear the 808 bump you'll understand.
So...

King Fantastic - Hollyrock Jam Session (Video)
I am proud to say we have posted our first King Fantastic video for "Hollyrock Jam Session," and launched our website with free music downloads and some extra sprinkles of crack.
We attempted to get it all up on our site yesterday, but it was 4/20 and we, well, you figure it out.
Our album, Finger Snaps and Gun Claps, drops in June; until then, we will be dropping a remix a week for free on our site, stream various songs from the record randomly, and release more videos.
Thank you to Andrew Soria and his team for a great job on the video.
Peace and hand grease.
The Glitch Mob - Drive It Like You Stole It (King Fantastic Remix)
This is the first remix by my King Fantastic side project, and guns are blazing with this one.
It is for one of my favorite groups, The Glitch Mob, and right in time for their debut at Coachella.
If you are going, do not miss them, they will crush your face in the best way possible.
We flyin'.

One Republic - All the Right Moves (Troublemaker Remix)
Hello Fam and Friends.
Here is my third remix of the year, for an incredible songwriter Ryan Tedder, and his group One Replublic.
It continues the theme of my previous two remixes this year (Tegan and Sara, These New Puritans), as a banging "dubstep" punch to the gut.
It's going down.
One Republic - All the Right Moves (Troublemaker Remix) (320kbps mp3)
These New Puritans - Attack Music (Troublemaker Remix)
Hello all, now we are moving.
This is my second remix of the year, for an incredible group, These New Puritans, who's album received a 9 out of 10 by NME, and high marks on the sonic quality of their album, thank you Dave Cooley.
The only thing I could do to this song is make it a monster. It is probably my darkest and hardest remix to date.
This is attack.
These New Puritans - Attack Music (Troublemaker Remix) (320kbps mp3)
King Fantastic - Lost Art of Killing
Ladies and Gentlemen.
Hollyrock is proud to present...
King Fantastic, a concise study in Westcoastsynthesizerbeachbumgangstermusic as interpreted by Killer Reese One and Troublemaker.
Thank you to Kristian Riley for the bumping mix, and Dave Cooley at Elysian Masters for the crispy mastering job.
Put your drinks in the air for the lost art of killing.

Tegan and Sara - Alligator (Troublemaker Remix)
My people, my people.
Welcome to my first remix of 2010 and the beginning of Hollyrock's onslaught of new music.
Not only do a I have slew of remixes up my sleeve, but a few full length album projects I will be leaking to you on the regular.
In the meantime, enjoy this remix and stay tuned for my next download soon.
Thank you to Kristian Riley for the great mix, and Kelly Hibbert at Elysian Masters for the always banging mastering job.

Matt and Kim - Daylight (Troublemaker Remix)
Hello Friends.
A couple months ago I sent out my Matt and Kim remix featuring De La Soul, which is featured on EA's FIFA 10 and NBA Live 10.
This remix is the uptempo version, minus the raps, for EA's Need for Speed Nitro.
Thank you to Cybele and Raphie at EA, Kristian Riley for the great mix, and Kelly Hibbert at Elysian Masters for the mastering job.
Matt and Kim - Daylight (Troublemaker Remix) (320kbps mp3)
Nina Simone - Feeling Good (Troublemaker Remix)
Hello All.
The fine folks over at EA asked me to remix this classic Nina Simone song for their new game, The Saboteur.
Much like my previous Johnny Cash remix, there were no "parts" or a "session," just a stereo master to work with on this one.
The game has been getting great reviews, and Jason Bentley at KCRW has already been showing the love on Morning Becomes Eclectic.
Definitely feeling good about this one (horrible pun intended).
Thank you to Raphie and Cybele at EA, and Kelly Hibbert at Elysian Masters for the mastering job.

Pete Lawrie - Black and Blue (Troublemaker Remix)
My friend and fellow basshead Kaptin, with the Chrome Kids, hooked me up with Wales soulful singer/songwriter Pete Lawrie for this remix of "Black and Blue."
In Kaptin's words, "...we just copped an exclusive from our Hollyrock homeboy Troublemaker that adds extra stomp whomping Hulk Hop heaviness to the track Black and Blue eating other remixes for breakfast, lunch and high tea."
(I am smiling).
Thank you to Kristian Riley for the full mix, and Kelly Hibbert at Elysian Masters for the bumpin mastering job.

Rad Omen "Rad Anthem" single will be available for free download November 24th.
Troublemaker - El Presidente
Que paso amigos? "El Presidente" es mi nueva cancion.
Considering I'm on my way to London, and I just released a bass and dubstep mixtape, I figured I'd drop some boom bap wobble wobble.
Thank you to Frank & Jan for the artwork, Kristian Riley for the proper mix, and Kelly Hibbert at Elysian Masters for the bumpin mastering job.
Troublemaker - El Presidente (320kbps mp3)
New Mixtape - Murder Beats Not People
"Murder Beats Not People" is my new mixtape.
It's some serious bass music with "exclusive" acapellas and appearances by emcees Adam Tensta and Eboi, Hollywood Holt, Micah James, Naptron, Phoenix Orion, and The 87 Stick Up Kids.
Thank you to Frank and Jan for the artwork, and Kelly Hibbert at Elysian Masters for the bumpin mastering job.
And apparently Frank and Jan liked the title so much they decided to print up some MBNP tees (available for a limited time).
Troublemaker - Murder Beats Not People (320kbps mp3)
The 87 Stick Up Kids - Lights, Camera...
The 87 Stick Up Kids and I have been getting down in the cave on some remixes for a second, but this here is our first original track together.
Along with Hollyrock teammate Tatelarock, we went rough, rugged and raw on this one, and the SK87 emcees The Deacon and Nashville came correct.
"Lights, Camera..." is a mid tempo old school hip hop banger with a chopped up amen break and serious fuzzed out bass for your face.
Thank you to Frank and Jan for the artwork, Kristian Riley for the bangin' mix, and Kelly Hibbert at Elysian Masters for the bumpin mastering job.

The Roxy, The Roxy
Matt and Kim Remix feat. De La Soul
Words cannot describe the amount of happiness this song brings me.
I consider De La Soul to be the greatest group in the history of hip hop. And, growing up and getting into music production, never did I think the day would come that I would have an opportunity to work with them. Well, all that changed with this here remix.
EA asked me to remix Matt and Kim's "Daylight" for NBA Live 10 and have an emcee, or in this case emcees, bless it. Through some rapid global file sharing while on tour in Australia, and the blood, sweat, and tears of all of our collective camps, we have this dope record to share with y'all.
Thank you to Raphie and Cybele and EA, Kristian Riley for the super clean mix, and Kelly Hibbert at Elysian Masters for the bumpin mastering job.

Troublemaker x HOPE x URB Mix
A couple months ago I went to Nairobi, Kenya with the HOPE Campaign. Urb Magazine was kind enough to publish my tour diary in the new issue, and with all that love, I hooked them up with this mix inspired by my travels.
Enjoy!
Thank you Josh and Raymond at Urb, and Kelly Hibbert at Elysian Masters for the mastering job.

Big B - Sinner Remix
I met Big B about a year ago thru my homie Klaw and Mr. Carey Hart.
We were hanging out and he was playing his album which was near done. I remember all of it sounding really clean and tight. I also remember hearing hits.
Ding!
Sure enough, "Sinner" is a rock radio summer hit and B is touring around the US with Klaw. Hell Yeah!
This is my take on it, with a little help from Tatelarock that cannot go unmentioned.
Thank you to Kristian Riley for the great mix, and Kelly Hibbert at Elysian Masters for the bangin mastering job.

Phoenix - 1901 Remix
This year is going by incredibly fast; I hear that's what happens when you get older.
I like to think, like gray hair, it's a sign of responsibility, otherwise known as getting shit done.
Yes, we are climbing out of a recession and people are still struggling, but good things are happening to good people, and this remix is a reflection of that.
Change is in the air, love is in the air, throw your hands in the air if you just don't care.
I can't escape the hip hop; but, for a minute, Tate and I take a stab at making something for The Hills.
I'm hoping Lauren Conrad hears this and wants to make out with me.
Thank you to Kristian Riley for the stellar mix and Kelly Hibbert at Elysian Masters for the excellent mastering job.

Firecracker Hot
Silversun Pickups - Panic Switch Remix
I love this remix like I love making out with girls in the rain overlooking a canyon (see Garden State).
I love this remix like I love laying on the beach in the summer and completely spacing out (or making out with a girl).
I made this remix with my friend Kristian Riley (Chin), who's name you may recognize from mixing credits on my previous tracks.
When we were working on this we were thinking about a film chase scene like one of the Bourne films, but then also a Zach Braff movie and making out with a girl.
Music. Girls. Makeout. Get it? I digress. Enjoy!
Thank you as always to Kelly Hibbert at Elysian Masters for the wonderful mastering job.

Making Up for Lost Time
I've been deep in the cave working on an incredible amount of new projects and remixes. Along with the travel, I pretty much lost a month of blog time. Well, fuck that, I'm back. Here's something Reid Speed hipped me to when I told her I'm going to Kenya. She's Weird.

"Your Face" Visual Fuckfest
I'm moving over my previous blogs (of interest) from Myspace and killin the Myspace blog (too much to do). A incredible fan of mine looped up all this footage to my last mixtape "Your Face." Hopefully someone will do it with my new mixtape "4," cause it's cool as all hell. Trip out!
De La Soul - Oooh Remix
Party people, your dreams have now been fulfilled.
As the end of the month is upon us, as promised, one last download.
Tate and I were looking to bring some future funk to another hip hop classic (see Camp Lo Luchini Remix), and I had heard De La Soul will be dropping two albums on us this year, so... yeah.
Space is the place with this one; relax your mind, let your conscious be free.
Many thanks to Kristian Riley at Treehouse Studios for the mix, and Kelly Hibbert at Elysian Masters for the mastering.

Peter Bjorn and John - Nothing to Worry About Remix
Considering everything going on in the US, and the World, this song could come at no better time.
I heard the original Peter Bjorn and John song on KCRW, and had to find it immediately. A couple weeks later, thru cross continental file sharing, I am pleased to present you with one of my favorite tracks to date.
It features Swedish emcee Adam Tensta, and Los Angeles' own U-N-I and The 87 Stick Up Kids.
Thank you Rockwell for connecting the dots, Kristian Riley at Treehouse Studios for the stellar mix, and Kelly Hibbert at Elysian Masters for the bumpin mastering job. It's all gravy baby!

Jindal the Page
The internets are a blaze. Life does imitate art.
If you don't watch 30 Rock on NBC, figure it out.
Oh God, You Devil
Bobby Jindal is the Republican answer to Barack Obama, so they say. He's more like a creepy second grade school teacher waiting to get busted for touching children in their swimsuit area.
His whole bit is scripted like a bad porno. Check the turning the corner, the flags set to each side, his unbuttoned jacket (really dude?), and lastly, the pathetic story telling, some of which has been confirmed as lies.
I hope everyone has their shovel ready, cause the Republican Party is a bunch of shit.
Cheers to Chris Matthews for saying what we all thought.

Obama's Pre-Game Interview (from pureroker.blogspot.com)
One of the things I love most about our new presidentŅor rather, the thing I can relate to my lifeŅis his love for his home office. Being able to be both POTUS and DADDY is a real pleasure for him, and why shouldn't it be? I could just see him taking a meeting with the Joint Chiefs, then strolling down the walkway to see his girls watching the Electric Company. What I wouldn't give for an afternoon lunch at the White House. Someday.
As a post-game footnote, the president even predicts the Steelers eking out a win. Damn, he can see the future too.

USA Network has announced the winners of the first-ever Character Approved Awards to honor individuals from a cross-section of creative disciplines who are positively influencing American culture. This years winner for Art is artist and street art sensation, Shepard Fairey. With a one-of-a-kind style and keen eye for design, Faireys unique approach to spreading art among the masses blended the worlds of pop culture and politics this past election cycle in a way no one could have ever predicted. His iconic HOPE image of President Barack Obama became a national sensation, recently being dedicated in the National Portrait Gallery at the Smithsonian.

Manifest HOPE, DC
This past week I was blessed to be a part of history and share it with some amazing individuals. From being the resident DJ at the Manifest HOPE Gallery, to Shepard Fairey's Obama HOPE print being inducted into the Smithsonian (yes, the Smithsonian), to the inauguration parties, to our Manifest HOPE party with Shepard, Santogold, De La Soul, Moby, and myself with hosts Rosario Dawson, Heather Graham and Michael Stipe, to the day of all days, the inauguration of President Barack Obama. All I can say is it will take me awhile to come down from this cloud.
I would like to thank Manifest HOPE, Shepard and Amanda Fairey, Jenn and Yosi with Evolutionary Media Group, and Lorrie and Shauna from Hot Bread/Soul Kitchen Music for all their love and support.
I'll be posting additional photos over the next couple weeks as I gather more and more from this historical week. To start the party off, here are a couple photos (courtesy of Mark Snelgrove) and below are some incredible links.

Flying the Friendly Skies
Recently, I was told I wasn't going to be able to board my flight from Las Vegas back home to Los Angeles because I was wearing a shirt that says, "Please Die." When I asked why, she said, "Because the troops" (as she glanced to the right). I looked right assuming there would be soldiers, but no. Then I proceeded to tell her that I do support the troops and she is ignoring my first amendment right to free speech. Basically, the reason we are fighting over there in the first place (thank you George Bush the Great Liberator). She replied with, "That doesn't matter cause we are a private company." I'm baffled. I tell her that I don't mind collecting a large check when the ACLU fights for my right to party; and, at that point she asked me if I would wear a clean white shirt if she provided it for me. For the love of my own bed, I threw in the towel and said yes. She came back a few minutes later with no shirt, and said because I was willing to work with her I could now fly home. Here comes the punchline... she then told me she wasn't even a United States citizen and she liked my shirt and would wear it if she had one of her own. Crazy bitch.
